I can say that I feel confident in everything except the math section and a few of the mechanical questions I'm sure will throw me. As stated, I don't have a tech background and haven't used math like this in a long while. I do weight/balance and fuel calcs daily. I have been studying a bunch, even with a tutor but it just hasn't been clicking. This attempt is slightly rushed, as I was planning to take it in mid-Feb, however the test admin was out basically the middle two weeks, and I've been waiting since early Dec to take it. I'm also taking it Thursday 0800...if you are in MSP, we'll be testing together I'd imagine. Boards are in April for me.
I'm not too worried about the pilot or PBM section because I've got 25 flight hours (and I will be soloing next week if the wx ever f*ing cooperates)...I know that doesn't mean I'll ace it, but it certainly helps. I'm obviously familiar with emergency procedures and controls, and the multitasking that comes with it. I don't fly in a super crowded area, but it's busy enough at times for a student pilot.
I'm 26, so this is basically my only shot. If I don't do well this time, I've got one more opportunity to test before boards. And if that doesn't work, I'll switch focus to ANG/AFR as they have a higher age limit (June app due date, boards in August). I can b*tch and moan about the age limits; the fact is I waited and it took me awhile to decide what I really want to do with my life, and serving my country in the air is it.
