    You were designated on the schedule and signed for the aircraft. You probably were current on something the Skipper/XO wasn't and they needed to gain currency haha.

    VRS is literally a downward decent into your own rotor wash. I'm surprised this has two pages. You dont have forward airflow over the rotors you are basically increasing the "wingtip" vortices and at your Pa power.

    Yep thats a solid foundation on which to judge if someone should be an officer or not. I actually put more faith into someone (i.e. DI, Chief that actually deals with the applicant vs someone who puts a stamp on their package) to determined if they have the ability to become an officer.

    You definitely didn't. DOR find out what happens or continue with the syllabus and know it gets better. You are in API that is not aviation. At least try to fly. It really sounds like you didnt do research or know what you got into and just want to back out.

    Through my flight school experience I actually only saw USNA and ROTC people attrite. A few OCS people would get a IPC or FPC but pass and be placed back into the syllabus.

Because with the 57 every input requires to be trimmed and some students struggle with it, IPs always comeback with "you'll never fly the 60 this way, you fly against it so you don't kill yourself but...

    Way to answer the question...never asked about jets. Just aviation (have you completed API or Primary?) Honestly its hard to say because you get the slot you get but you get your commission where OCS you know your potential designation but have to get accepted and commission to continue.

    If you got a PRO-Y just enjoy your down time study what you need to study and stay in shape. Also enjoy your bed, once your at OCS all it is standing all day and trying to sleep on uncomfortable beds not knowing what time it is and god forbid you have a roommate that snores and keeps you up.

    I'm a pilot not a swo but when I was at OCS (2 years ago) at about the halfway point through OCS all the SWO selects would get together with a list of available ships and then they would work among themselves (backstab haha) to get the ship/location they wanted so that they at least had a verbal...

    False. I didnt have jet grades out of primary but didnt want maritime so I put Helos, Jets (strike) and E2/C2. Got helos.

    But the ASTB has ultimatly almost no bearing. Its used for a PRO REC and that's it not an indicator for how well you will do.
