33 years ago today, the Challenger exploded a few minutes after liftoff. For those of us around them, it was one of those moments you remember where you were when you heard the news.
Late to the thread, but I was literally walking out the door for FAM 1 at VT-6 when the Challenger was turning into an airborne explosion on the ready room TV. Not super-heartening to this SNA.
But FAM 1 went well, other than having to barf in my glove because I forgot my sick sak (only time ever).
I know quite well the guys that are developing the rotorcraft to fly on Saturn's moon, Titan. Much denser atmosphere than Earth, much less gravity than Earth. You could almost flap your arms...
