Anyone selected with low Astb score?

As the topic stated, has anyone been selected with an astb score that did not meet the minimum but had superb fitreps and good recommendation in your CO endorsement?

I’m on path for my pin but wanted to revisit this question to see if the door are closed for any future aspiration into the aviation community via pilot or nfo at all, not amdo.

My last astb( third try) was 4, 4, 5 but it was prior to my commission. I understand how these board go but was wondering if even submitting a package is worth it if I can’t up my scores. Thanks in advance.

You’re not qualified for aviation.

The issue is there’s tons of qualified fleet applicants who have good records, LORs, blah blah blah along with a great ASTB score.

You technically meet the minimum required for NFO but not for Pilot. RecruitingGuru knows much more than I do but he hit the nail on the head in the sense that there are people out there that have everything you have and a better ASTB. I would definitely tell you to apply and make them tell you "No," because you never know and could pick up an NFO slot; however, I wouldn't bet on it.

Double check the aviation requirements.

The thread title does not match the question in your post.

There is a HUGE difference between:

1) Has anyone been selected with a low ASTB score? (Which is "Yes" depending on the rest of their package and needs of the Navy)

and

2) Has anyone been selected with a non-qualifying ASTB score? (Which is "No" as that doesn't meet the threshold to even submit an application.

Even if you met the minimum, you wouldn't get in. Way too many applicants that match what you bring and have a competitive score.
