When do the new PRT standards come into effect at Navy OCS?

I have been seeing that the Navy is going to transition to planks sometime in 2020 but have not seen an official date. Is there a date when there is an official transition period? I head out to OCS on June 14th, right now I am preparing for both the planks and situps but am very curious to know which one will be on the test by that time.

According to this article it’s not just planks and a row machine coming down the pipe line but a pretty significant change to push ups as well.
They edited that article and redacted the new push-up info so that is not going in to effect. Also no standards have been released yet

That’s good to know. I’ve been checking for the Navadmin on and off waiting for the official word. Seems odd military times would not update a released article if information has changed.

Military times is NOT an official military publication, it’s a civilian rag that publishes military news.

So why is this odd that haven’t released an article if information has changed.?

I know they are NOT an official military publication. With that said like Navy times and the rest of them they are pretty good at providing accurate/ updated information. Somethings obviously are better coming from official publication.

Any chance they might allow us to do planks instead of curl-ups by the Spring/Summer OCS?

I'm told I'm probably going to be going to OCS on April 12th. I'm great at planks, but I find curl-ups to be a lot harder.

Get better at sit ups, they’re easy if you have the right technique. You only have to have a good low by the mid pft.
