Eh, this warrants at most a, "oh, huh, I guess so." Anything more is in the goofball realm of astrology.

02022020 was a unique day for me. The wife unit took off to a “chicks only” Super Bowl party...leaving me home alone to attempt to figure out how to operate the TV remote for the first time. I don’t watch TV and am unfamiliar with the buttonology regarding the remote. Nevertheless, after about 30 minutes of button mashing, I was not able to get the Super Bowl to display [or anything for that matter]...so I busted out my vintage Sony Walkman AM/FM/cassette player from the 1980s and listened to the Super Bowl on a local AM radio station. Thank you, Mr. Marconi...you saved the day.

Aw man... I real, genuine Walkman... I could only ever afford the knockoff version, the cheap one that had only three buttons: play, stop, and fast forward but no rewind. So if you wanted to rewind your tape then you had to press stop, pull it out, flip it over, press fast forward, then press stop again, then pull it out and flip it over again... That's all we had but we liked it that way!! Harrumph!! Kids these days and their newfangled "compact discs."

My kids would say, "what's a compact disc?"

Did anyone have the much less popular Watchman? Tiny 2 inch or some such screen, extendable antennae, the size of a walkie talkie, moderately worthless. But in hindsight, hilarious!
Yeah...pretty worthless from what I heard...I never had one...but I remember some dude in my college dorm commenting that they weren’t too good for watching porno. :D

Yeah, we had 1 or 2 of those new word processor thingees in Admin with all the typewriters when I joined VP-46 in 1984. Still running the flight schedule and POD off on a mimeograph.

Those rotary dial phones were a pain in the ass too, especially when trying to get an autovon (DSN) line.
