I do, but it’s one less opportunity to get attrited, you know?

If you have that much time, you won’t be attrited in IFS. Hell, it’s kind of hard to attrite in general even without previous experience. Flight school was the best time of my life and the best thing that ever happened to me. Don’t rush through it.

If you get don't make it through IFS, you wouldn't have made it through flight school. I understand, I was there. There is this feeling of trying to get through flight school as fast as possible. Trust me when I say, flight school is some of the best time of your life.

I don’t think I’d fail IFS, don’t get me wrong. Y’all make good points, and my checkbook will certainly appreciate holding off on my ppl!

You'll end up with a free commercial license and instrument rating out of flight school. What flavor depends on where you end up. I highly encourage you to spend whatever money you were going to put towards a PPL towards something much more meaningful. I think trips, and booze is a better purpose.

I don't know how long IFS is lasting these days, but it's still at least a week or two. Sit back, and enjoy the free flight time.
