I'm shooting for March. It took January - May for everything to be in place in order to take my oath and May - Sept to get gained Into the system with a unit so I can even start looking at DCOIC dates. Looking at CANTRAC January 19' had a few seats open and March 19' seems to have quite a bit more availability.

I'm a little late to the party, but I was Pro-Rec'd: Y for 1835 on this last go-round. I was notified by my OR about two weeks ago and got an email from my region AOIC. Feels good to have some semblance of actual official correspondence confirming everything during the FINSEL purgatory phase. Waiting sucks...like super hard.

Jump on over to the 17SEP DCO Board thread with the rest of us new selectees!

You need to set your expectation meter to zero.

That's hilarious - and so accurate

I still haven't been called or emailed by my recruiter about selection or anything along the process. I have mastered the expectation level! I assume he is waiting until he actually has something to tell me. I did send him a message thanking him for the help through the process - he was on leave for awhile, so I'm not sure he has gotten caught back up yet.

The former.

Thanks, thats what i thought. I wanted to know if it matters when the swear in takes place. It would have been nice to be able to control the commission date to the same date my Grandaddy commissioned as an Ensign in 1944!
I probably would have missed that DEC date anyway.

Swear in as fast as possible. It becomes your pay entry base date. That date matters for other things. You can always do a second ceremony with family.
