I understand if you fail all 3 getting an immediate boot. Kinda makes sense. Just worried about the run. Been in for 10 years now and I have worried about the run every time. Even at 18 I was garbage at running.
I was in H class with a guy that failed the run, but passed push-ups/ situps. So they shouldn't kick you out but you will roll to H.

If my understanding is correct, candidates need a Good-Low score. If all 3 events are Satisfactory but below Good-Low, does that constitute "failing" and not being able to roll? Or does the immediate attrite rule only apply to a Probationary score in all 3 events?
The first week pt test you mush get at least sat medium to continue training. The next PT test is around week 4 you have to hit sat high. The next PT test around week 8 you have to hit good low. The final pt test to graduate it goes back down to sat medium.

So I checked into OCS JULY 1ST failed the IST 3 times and was attrited yesterday. Hit me with your questions.
What was the flight physical like? I think I have heard it was during the first week. I've done some searching but I haven't seen any posts about what they do during the physical. Since you were just there I assume you have updated info anyway.

Similar to MEPS. You piss in a cup, get blood drawn, take some eye tests, spread your buttcheeks, etc. You also get your anthro's measured and take an EKG. There's probably more, but it's nothing out of the ordinary.

Jesus. I'm really, really sorry to hear that. What were they doing in that 6 weeks in H class that didn't make too much of a difference? Did they bar you from using equipment (barbells, benches, etc.) and just made you do push-ups?

Well it's good to know we can't delay our ship date.

Other push up strugglers - Stew Smith's program has taken me from 20 --> 45 over 4 weeks.

The program is just to do 4x your max as total volume every day.

What a lot of these programs don't mention is you'll eventually hit a strength ceiling. Those guys didn't get big pecs and bulging biceps from push-ups. You need the push-ups for the muscle memory, but you need the lifting for the strength and muscular development. Think about why females need to do so few push-ups by comparison and are able to get away with quite a bit. If you're a bench press beast and at a reasonable body fat %, you'll find getting better at push-ups a lot easier than a guy whose only ever physical activity was running cross-country.

Or he simply didn’t bother preparing enough for OCS.

I can't argue with you there.

I'm curious if the Navy adopted something like the new Army PFT if that would help more people. It emphasizes functional strength a lot more than diarrhea bodyweight exercises.
