Anyone have a good source to find decent rates for Vegas hotels that aren't sketch but don't break the bank? Or is the usual web suspects the place to go to find rates? I'm trying to figure out if I need transportation while attending an Expo at the Convention Center.

Also, how is shuttle service from the airport? Do most places have service? I've only ever flown into Vegas via .mil means.

Are you traveling during the week or weekend? Most times just check the respective hotel website to see what deals they have including some mil discounts.

As for transportation, recommend Lyft or Uber though yes some hotels offer free transportation to and from the airport. DO NOT use the taxis as they’ll try to persuade/pressure to go to titty bars.

Been a few times and had good luck with the Westin. Close enough to everything, decent bar, small casino, nice rates.

Hilton is also offering "military family" rates for Mil folks on non-orders.

EDIT: Wasn't sure if you were looking for specific places or general rates. I use Kayak for hotels if I don't have luck with Hilton/SPG/Marriott directly, but I'm generally hotel loyal because #points. Most brands offer extra points recently if you book through them.

You can’t go wrong with DTS.

Did I ruin anybody's keyboard with that one?

How is that a bad thing? Oh, and welcome back...

There's an Embassy Suites just off the strip that's pretty good. It's about 2 blocks over from all the action. If you have a car, or don't mind Ubering around a bit, it's a good way to steer clear of the strip craziness and get a bit of a discount.

I saw this one coming, and it STILL made me laugh. Well played.

The Hampton Inn Tropicana isn't bad, close to the strip- easy Uber to get to Fremont street. Though you have to walk across the interstate to get to the strip- which is sketchy after dark.

The Palazzo had a government rate a few years ago.

Caesars has a 10% military discount, and if you register for their players club, you'll get automatic platinum status which means no resort fees.
