3 of my former coworkers, all AW/SAR, UAV contractors with similar degrees have been selected for both AEDO and AMDO over the past 4 years. All the NRP officers I interviewed with said UAV experience is hard to find and one of the larger needs of the navy at the moment. I should also add into my 'info page' my experience through all the 8 years of UAVs I was chief maintenance technician as well. I do appreciate your input and will continue to get certs and other items to better fit the role.

I haven't seen anyone with your background (that is on your profile) get selected either, maybe your co-workers had other items in their background? The ones I often saw backgrounds on were more maintenance oriented, maybe more certs will help, but it is an 8% selection so many very qualified people don't get selected.

"Maintenance technician" isn't enough. The boards want leadership. How many people are you in charge of? Did you save the company $$$? Did you improve efficiencies, etc?

DCO boards have gotten extremely competitive over the years. What might have been acceptable 4 years ago is likely not nowadays. Don't believe me? See the FY 17 and FY 18 IWC DCO threads.

No offense but being a prior AW along with UAV tech experience don't match with AMDO/AEDO.

Yeah, I did all that. I'm not going to post my whole resume on here. My package included all that, I ran a large SOCOM contract with 67 people deployed to 8 countries, plenty of measurable goals. Calm down mate.

Erau,

The next board is in April 2018. They are going to just one board a year due to the low quotas expected over the next several years. Right now, they are looking at 2/2 AMDO/AEDO selections for FY-19. To put it in perspective, for FY-18, there were 3/2 selections with over 50 applications reviewed at the board. This info is straight from an OCM brief yesterday.

It's been one board a year for a while now...

You are right, it has been like this for a while, one whole board.....FY-17 saw two boards ie October 15 and April 16. So, it has been a grand total of one board since the change in board schedule. But thanks for pointing that out and taking the time to answer a simple question though....

Hey, guys,
I was very blessed and humbled to be one of the selectees for AMDO for this FY's board. Not saying I am a pro like RUFiO181 or some of the others, but am willing to offer my help and advise to anyone willing to listen.

Greetings all, ramping up for the upcoming board. New, at least to me, policy, is all interviews are now scheduled by a LCDR who is the recruiter liaison. I had been working directly with interviewers and was just informed of the new procedure. Not sure if anybody else has heard the same, passing the word.

That is probably correct. Met the recruiter liaison (newly created billet) at the all-hands in pax. This is defiantly a good thing for DCO hopefuls.

Awesome, good to hear, I wasnt sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. More organization and fixed points of contact seem like a good thing. He's already lining up some interviews for me, so far, so good!

Compared to last year not much chatter on here as the deadline approaches, did everybody get discouraged from last year?!
