another comment to the list getting out... My recruiter is not in the NRD headquarters, is always doing training for other stations, and has a life too... so you have to be patient with the pipeline. Maybe your recruiters have similar schedules

IW:
Demonstrated Leadership, strong motivational and personal statements, outstanding appraisals, letters of recommendation, related degree (CS, ENG, Cyber, advanced foreign language) IWC related Job experience and security clearance eligibility.

IP:
Demonstrated Leadership, strong motivational and personal statements, superior demonstrated performance in current/previous occupation, information management/technology/IWC related work experience, Navy preferred industry certs (CISSP, Security +) security clearance eligibility, outstanding interviews and recommendations. Strong recommendation given to IT-related military service.

Intel:
Demonstrated Leadership, strong personal statements, superior demonstrated performance in current/previous occupation, Advanced education, intel/IWC/analytical work experience, security clearance eligibility. strong motivational statements that reflect how their skill set directly applies to naval intel.

Just be aware this is the same canned criteria they have put out many times before.

Also a long time lurker here. I'm an IW that was picked up. They said there are 7 IWs. My region Minneapolis got word Monday but my recruiter told me yesterday. It does take some time to get through the chain. I get it, but it doesn't make it any easier to wait. This was my second time up for it. I did not get selected last year. The "keep trying" adage is right on track. I think they are looking for the whole person. Some general thoughts on why I got selected... Are you going to make the Navy your priority? Is your civilian life so busy that they might wonder how you fit them in? Are you excelling in what you are doing now or just coasting along? Do your recommendations feel you are a sustained superior performer? Do you have the basic requirements met? They don't just want someone that looks good on a resume. That's why they are asking for a lot of recommendations and panels. Getting that cert might help push you over the edge, but your performance in what you are doing is an indication of how you are going to be in a job better than a test. Good luck to the rest of you and for those of you that didn't make it keep working and applying if this is what you really want.

Congratulations. What Cert are you referring to here? Anything specific?

If you are going for IW I would suggest an advanced degree in STEM. For instance I have my thesis left in software engineering. If you are looking for IP then CISSP or security+. Intel also would recommend that you are working towards an advanced degree in something related to intelligence or politics. Always be working towards something. If you are going to be in the Navy or are now that's always going to be the case. At least that's my experience and hopefully makes sense.

*CW pick up. Sorry for the keyboard mistake. Apparently I was too excited. I picked up CW and there are 7 of us. There are many more IWs, ~60. I think they mentioned like one metoc, and I don't remember the IP stats.

where are all the people that were posting on this thread earlier in the year? Did you make it through the process? Have you heard back?!
