Fixed wing or Rotary

No. Generally assignments are handed out next to a pool while you stand around in dress whites. If you select fixed wing, you get your RIO when you get to your ship. If your commanding officer likes you, he may offer to fly with you in lieu of that assignement.

I can remember sitting in the movie theater chuckling through that entire documentary film.
 
At selection my XO asked "have you figured it out yet?"

We asked, "figured out what?"

XO: "whose the best pilot?"

Us: " the helo bros of course"
 
If you jets, be careful about flying through "Jet Wash" and punching into the canopy...........but on the upside, you do get to pop your collar on the polo underneath your flight suit.
 
Don't forget though, going fixed wing means lots of denim jeans volleyball. Be prepared for that and follow up wine and dining your instructors.

There are pros and cons to every job.

No Denim Jeans volleyball in Enid or Sheppard, we have to do the Cupid Shuffle and not even the Cha Cha Slide :(
