Good luck!

I'm a CEC/CORE applicant.

Release your stats! Always curious what Nuclear selects stats look like.

I'll be applying NUPOC if I don't make the list this year. Hopefully this isn't the case....

This forum has been a great resource.
I've been lurking for a few months, just thought I'd make an account to chime in on a few things

I also noticed that my NETFOCUS account has been missing my information since the end of September. I'm not sure what this means. I've been logging on every night waiting for results.

I feel like many of you are far more qualified than most of the Nukes that apply. Most of us that get picked up haven't even seen the fleet, let alone finished training. I'm not sure if we get picked up because we are nukes or because we apply for Nuke...

RATE/RANK: MM3
APPLYING FOR: Nuke
EVALS: just the ones from A school and Power School. Promotable plus some points for GPA and fitness.
SMART: ~70 from the pipeline
COLLEGE: 48 CR with a 3.2 GPA
HIGH SCHOOL: 3.75, honors courses
LEADERSHIP: management experience before the Navy
AWARDS: n/a
TIS: 1 yr 6 months
ACT: 58 combined I think it was
WARFARE QUALS: not a thing
PRT: excellent, excellent, excellent
LORs: retired Admiral, Commander, and Chief. LCPO (A school Chief)

None of this is too spectacular...
With Nukes, our grades weigh very heavily into selection along with our Boards. That's all we have to stand out.

I was A School honorman 3.74
13 out of ~400 in Power School and Graduated with Honors. (>3.7 GPA)

During the LT board, all three LTs were prior STA-21 selectees and were previously DivOs. I got 10/10 From two in all fields and 9/10 except the one area where I got a 9.

That's just a little insight in how it is for us.

Anyone else experience their package information disappearing? Under the "Package Status" tab in NETFOCUS.
There are a few of us experiencing that same thing. I think 2-3 of us on this forum. We will see if it "means" anything when the results come out.

That's outstanding! Good looking stats there!

Nuclear applicants are in a very good position. You have to understand that it is very tough to keep Nuclear Officers on active duty (I would know I work at a Reserve Center. They don't stay in the fleet long). There is a low retention rate and Nuke Officers are in high demand in the fleet. This is why I am applying NUPOC if my name isn't on the list this year. The potential for a Nuclear Officer is unlimited in OUR Navy. I am fascinated by the Nuclear Program. For you STA-21 is great because they typically select 35 or more Nukes for the program. Those are great odds!

Congratulations on your accomplishments in school! It seems like your boards went really well. Good on you for seeking external endorsement in your Letters of Recommendation. That shows immense initiative and perseverance in pursuit of your commission.

We are hoping the package disappearance is a good thing. If your name is on the list as well then we have definitely made a correlation. Make sure and let us know once the results release. Check your application data and see what date is listed under "Last updated" three of us have a Sept 18th date there. This was the date the board finished.

I wish you the best! May your name make the list!

The USN does a good job of creating the illusion that they have a hard time keeping the nuclear officers they need, but that isn't the case, there is a great demand to to get them, but the number they need to keep past 5 years drops dramatically and there is no shortage of those wanting to stay, they have created extra positions for second carrier tour nuke line officers and changed some from LDO positions to line positions, the sub officers I worked with said the same issue exist on subs they have more finishing department head tours and staying than they have XO/CO positions.
