FY14 IDC DCO Boards

I heard back from my recruiter about a hour ago. Unfortunately didn't get in.
I don't recall the numbers exactly but she told me that somewhere near 260 applicants and 47 got intel and 3 got IP.

I'm thinking about waiting 2-3 years before applying again. Hopefully everyone else has better luck.

Don't get too discouraged. This is my second time up and I've heard it take several attempts before some get selected. It's not that your not qualified, but the board sometimes just looks for certain qualities each cycle.

On another note, 47 Intel isn't too bad.
 
Why wait 2 years? Go for it in march if you think you can get a better package together by then! I find it out of the ordinary that the first person on this thread found out by their recruiter already! "The source" hasn't been active i guess! Ha

You are pretty young to apply for reserves, why didn't you look at active duty? looking at your background you look like you would be pretty competitive.
 
I have access to certain Navy sites, but not the Navy Personnel Center, which I think is where the list is. If someone knows if there's another place it might be please PM me and I'll take a look.

The list is sent out via email to the NRD's, it is not posted or put on any other sites unless a person is a reservist, then it would be on their BOL page, eventually.....

SEP09 (first FY10 board) - 174 applicants. Selected 57 INTEL. (Last INTEL-only board.)
MAR10 (second FY10 board) - 278 applicants. Selected 31 INTEL, 11 IW, 13 IP, 0 OCEANO. (First joint IDC board.)
SEP10 (first FY11 board) - 262 applicants. Selected 41 INTEL, 10 IW, 5 IP, 2 OCEANO.
MAR11 (second FY11 board) - 283 applicants. Selected 40 INTEL, 10 IW, 6 IP, 0 OCEANO.
SEP11 (first FY12 board) - 348 applicants. Selected 55 INTEL, 12 IW, 7 IP, 0 OCEANO.
MAR12 (second FY12 board) - 243 applicants. Selected 59 INTEL, 8 IW, 9 IP, 1 OCEANO.
SEP12 (first FY13 board) - 285 applicants. Selected 54 INTEL, 6 IW, 5 IP, 0 OCEANO.
MAR13 (second FY13 board) - 234 applicants. Selected 53 INTEL, 7 IW, 5 IP, 1 OCEANO.
SEP13 (first FY14 board) - 196 applicants. Selected 50 INTEL, 8 IW, 6 IP, 2 OCEANO.
MAR14 (second FY14 board) - 190 applicants. Selected 40 INTEL, 8 IW, 9 IP, 0 OCEANO.
SEP14 (first FY15 board) - 235 applicants. Selected 38 INTEL, 4 IW, 3 IP, 2 OCEANO.
MAR15 (second FY15 board) - 16-20MAR15.
 
Wow, more applicants and less selected. This cycle must have been pretty competitive. Also, if someone one the NRD mailing list is here I would also be appreciative if they could check my name.

Some advice: get commissioned however you can and then change your designator once you get in. I initially wanted IP, however, knew that it was next to impossible due to the number of applicants and the limited slots. The easiest way to get commissioned DCO is INTEL. This is based on numbers. Look at how many INTEL officers they select versus IW/IP/METOC, etc.

They take anyone for INTEL because folks come from varying backgrounds. Because of the limited number of IP slots, they have to rack and stack people. After you are already in, changing your designator is an administrative exercise and you are looked at on the basis of whether or not you will be successful in the new designator.

I was commissioned as INTEL and got fully qualified (PQS and IDWO). I then dropped a change of designator package to change from INTEL to IP. It took about 30 days. Easy. Changing designators after you are in is a completely different process and changing from one IDWO designator to another is not frowned upon.

Words of advice: keep your plans to yourself and kick butt as an INTEL officer.

I applied immediately after my first denial. Don't wait.
