Better focus on those hoist EPs and SAR procedures young swimmer...all other good things will come in time.

Very true... Although I'm on a bit of a time crunch for Pilot, not expecting to get picked up this time around but at least get a basic package to improve upon. Pretty much just trying to take the ASTB and worry about the rest at my next command.

Are you in Jacksonville or San Diego? Either way, you have a great opportunity to get with some STA-21 guys either at SDSU or JU...great source of knowledge from those who've been recently selected.

I don't know how old you are, but if you complete two years enlisted you can waiver your age limit to 29. With your previous college you should be able to complete school in less than 36 months as well.

I'm in San Diego. How would I go about doing that? Should I just call up the SDSU ROTC office and ask around?

I would see if there is a contact email on their website first. Shoot them an email introducing yourself, and ask for a contact. If that doesn't work, calling wouldn't be a bad idea.

I'm 22, but I will be 23 by end of FRS, and I would like to do at least a deployment or two as an AWR for the satisfaction of the accomplishment. But my dream is, and has always been, to fly myself. But it looks like I should be ok with those 2 extra years.

Thanks, I'll try this.

I'd say to join the STA-21 facebook page and there are a ton of prioir selectees on that page who would be more than willing to help you. I know two of them personally who are currently attending SDSU.

I was a SWO(IP) alternate in FY-13. I'd suggest working towards achieving some civilian certifications such as A+, Network+, and Security+. Navy cool offers vouchers for some rates. Just some food for thought.

Also, why did your eval go down to an MP from EP? Was this due to a promotion?

I'm obviously very junior but I would suggest taking more classes. They want to see that you can complete your degree in 3 years, and most of your credits will not transfer to whatever NROTC college you go to. And take calculus 1 and 2 if you can.
