I personally believe that the OAR section has nothing to do with the aviation/NFO scores. IMHO

From what my OR tells me, the OAR is a good measure of how well you can handle the academic portion of OCS. Although the OAR portion's score isn't factored into the AQR, PFAR, or FOFAR scores (see image*) it still is valuable to the aviation community. This is because the sections the OAR is based off are the fundamental skills and knowledge that an Officer needs to 1) pass OCS 2) build upon once at API and Basic. So yes, the OAR section is not used in calculating your AQR, PFAR, or FOFAR as those are derived from a combination of questions from the last three sections (again see image*). But it is still a valuable measure of your foundational knowledge and skills.

Ok I agree 100% with that. If anything I felt the the OAR was most important. Not that the other sections weren't obv.

Man that "6" really irritates me! Lol

No worries on that 6 man, your sevens and your 61 OAR will make up for it. Besides.. SNAs are largely based on the first two numbers AQR (Academic qualification rating), and PFAR (Pilot flight aptitude rating) while SNFOS are largely based on AQR and FOFAR (Flight Officer Flight aptitude rating).



After posting this i released I wasn't sure of the order that people posted there numbers... Is there a standard order that they should appear in? ie (OAR AQR/PFAR/FOFAR) as this is the order that I seemed to have assumed

I would question the validity of that info, it might be before versions 3-5 were released as the minimum score is incorrect and some of this info contradicts information during a brief by testing personnel in Florida.

Agreed. It seems that 4/5 (AQR/PFAR [or FOFAR]) are the Navy minimums right now.

No, application threshold is where a recruiter/NRD would get credit for submitting an application, anything below credit is given if the person is selected.

Sorta'... actually OLQ was a graded observation on leadership qualities of NAVCADs by DIs & Flight Instructors, throughout until commissioning, and Aviation Officer Candidates (AOC) during Preflight (API). After commissioning in both cases, leadership qualities became a part of normal Navy "O" performance evals, i.e. Fitness Reports or 'FitReps'. Don't believe it's used any more, since the demise of the NAVCAD Flight Training Program in the 1990s.
