Apparently you have a very one dimension form of thinking. Do you really want me to slice up the language here and explain it to you? Your argument that "an inanimate object can't have resolve" is flawed in two ways:

1) an inanimate object can have resolve. Resolves means determination. In the most denotative context, the word determination implies the decision or settlement arrived at or pronounced or a solution. If two men engage in a fight, and one of the men has a gun and shoots the other man, then the gun has determination. Thus, the gun has resolve, and an inanimate object is capable of having resolve. (though in this situation the inanimate object's resolve was depedent upon its use by a human, there are many examples I could illustrate that would take out the human action)

2) You are looking at an aircraft carrier as a very static concept. When I say an aircraft carrier, I do not mean a bunch of steel with guns on it that is sitting in a port. That would be inanimate. When I say an aircraft carrier, I am clearly referring to the aircraft carrier as a moving force guided by human beings. Thus, the aircraft carrier isn't an inanimate object at all. It seems to take on a life of its own as something larger than any human being.

This about sums it up for me.

Anyone else think he would be better suited for this community? Sorry for the video quality I couldn't find a better one. ;)

No, but you went and did it anyway!

With your "multi-dimensional" form of thinking, I'm thinkin' (one-dimensionally of course) that you would have a really hard time in a fleet ready room, let alone a cockpit.

How about a career in politics? I don't understand them either. :snooty_12

Then say it like that because the way it's written now has a bunch of people with much more personal experience with aircraft carriers confused- maybe it's not as clear as you think.

While I understand why you might that opinion, your idea of me as an individual is incredibly limited and restricted to the few posts that I've made on this forum. Sure, sometimes I write some silly stuff because I think it's funny and I want to troll.

Our idea of you as an individual is limited to the impressions you're making on here, and that will be the case with the board as well, which is why people are trying to help you. If you want to be an officer and aviator then try to heed the good advice you're getting. If you want to troll, go ask for help somewhere else because no one here thinks it's funny.

O.K. ... at first I just thought you were confused & meant well (and were actually seeking OUR help) ... now I believe you need professional help. Or you're just a kook. Or a troll. In any case, you're not Naval Officer material in your present incarnation ...

Soooooooooo .... do we close this pathetic thread or keep it open and continue the pig-pile ... ??? I don't care, but while the OP individual is typing here -- he/she/whatever could be making an appointment w/ a shrink, instead ... ??? Or at least taking an English composition class ... ???

Anyone ??? Anyone ??? Bueller ???

Hahahah nice A4s....

I'm not gonna lie, as ridiculous as all of this has been, this is has been pretty entertaining for me since mr. xbox hopeful opened his mouth. I vote to just let it continue....

I mean, can it really get any worse?

It is regrettable that you confuse analytical dissection of language to be crazy and that you think I need professional help. If people with your views of discussion dictated the way that the world worked, the study of philosophy wouldn't exist. I think that you saying that I am not Naval Officer material is outrageous. I'll be sure to let you know when I get my commission.

This is like watching a trainwreck in slow motion

Exactly. I want to turn away but I can't. Hence my previous post about letting it continue.

Look finnsy, I would take a wild guess and say that A4s probably knows Officer material. He's been around the block, more than a few times and if thats what he believes, he's welcome to that opinion. No one's job here is to impress you or say the right things to give you a warm fuzzy inside. Thats the one thing that makes Airwarriors so unique, is that the officers here aren't going to bullshit you and will be blatantly honest all the time....whether you agree or disagree or even asked for it.

I don't think you actually understand how many of these people you will possibly be seeing in the near future as instructors, dept heads, XO, CO, etc. So the manner in which you carry yourself on here, WILL carry over in real life when they meet you. Unfortunately they will already have a first impression of you from your posts. Stop trying to impress people with the vocab list from the LSAT exam and dissecting discussions.....no one here cares that much. You keep digging yourself deeper. Just take the damn advice, stop trolling and intentionally trying to get a rise out of people, and it'll stop......or you know, keep going.

I understand everyone here has experience, but to say that I'm not officer material from such a limited example of me is just ridiculous. If you think that I'm using big words from a 'vocab list from the LSAT exam' then this only proves my point. Not only does the LSAT not have a vocab' oriented portion, but you're just wrong. So what if I'm articulate? There's a difference between knowing how to effectively use a word and sounding like a dog-eared dictionary lover. I'm an English major and I read a lot of fucking books. This coupled with the fact that I have a damn good memory gives me the ability to use a wide variety of words. I am not ostentatious. I don't want people to bullshit me and make me feel good. I'd just be happy if they stopped making outrageous assumptions about my character and determination. It's fine though. Everyone's just giving me more fuel to study even harder for this exam and train as hard as possible. Considering the fact that I still have six months until I graduate, and I still have to get my vision waiver, and then take the ASTB, there's still a lot ahead of me until I can, God permitting, get what I want-- but I can't wait to get to OCS and graduate so I can prove all of you wrong.

This is one of the funniest things I have read on this site. You are a terrible communicator and you sound like a fucking moron, not an articulate philosopher.

Its amazing how articulate and educated you claim to be and yet you are so dense, that you can't take a hint. Yes I know the LSAT doesn't have a vocab section, I was being facetious. (see I can use them too)

No one here is doubting you going to OCS and getting a commission, but you just continually prove our points, because you keep fighting back with:

"I'm awesome and here's why because I've read this and I've taken this test, I have the memory of an elephant and resolve of a carrier AND I out-debate you and wipe my own ass at the same time"

That's fantastic. Good for you. Congratulations, no one cares and your english degree isn't going to dictate whether you'll be a successful Officer or Aviator. I have an aerospace engineering degree and can spit out math and physics equations that will make your head explode, but why? I dont care that much and no one else does either....and it has nothing to do with my job as an SNFO.

It's good to have drive, but as you've already been told, too much pride can be your downfall. Chill the hell out and stop justifying yourself around every turn. I Alright I'm done. I feel like I'm talking to a wall and its more fun to just laugh at other responses.

One of the Blue Angels is an English major. I'm sure he doesn't come off as a dick though. Oh damn, I said dick, sorry my small vernacular doesn't include a wide variety of insults.
