Just took delivery of my beaucoup-bucks .308 stock today ... I trust it will be worth it when the entire 'build' is complete. :)

Great minds think alike. I've been lusting after one of those for months now. Going to drop a 700 action in there?

Did you pay retail, or snag one from gunbroker?

AFFIRM to the first ...

Got it from MIDWAY, if you can believe that -- no tax -- $13 shipping (took 5 days 'cause of Thanksgiving) ... @ 1K for the folding model ... within +/- $15 of GunBroker so I went with a good price from a reputable supplier. ALSO ... they have the 10-round mags for a righteous price ...

Very nice! What's the rest of your build going to be other than the 700 Action? Barrel etc?

I went a little more expensive for my Christmas gift and the online tracker says it hit the dock in SC from Germany today. It'll take care of the toy gun budget for a bit. :(

While I'd love to buy another gun... PSW and I dropped around $2K on our Christmas gift to each other...

We fully expect A4's range performance to be sub 3/4" @100 yards even on his bad days with that level of technology.

Phrogpilot73- $100 says PSW "volunteers" for a watch on the bridge. It's too tempting for a SWO to be at sea and not participate.

I'm going to stick w/ the stock bbl for a while as it's been MOA from day 1 ... even though I had it cut down and re-crowned. IF I change it (and I probably will), I'll probably move to a HART or a SCHILEN (sp?) ... but $600 a lot of lattes @ Starbucks for 1/4 or so improvement. We shall see ...

It's got a SEAL-team-legend former MCPO tuned trigger (@ 2.5 #) and it's currently sporting a Leupold Mk4 mil-dot scope ... and I've got a Schmidt-Bender 3-12x50 PMII P3 sitting around that's been looking for a 'home' ...
so who knows??

Harris bipod ... get the bbl threaded for a AAC 762 SD paperweight that's 'in the mail' ... yadda, yadda, yadda ... and I'm still tryin' to figure out a 'good' sling ... :)

This has GOT to be one of the most egregious thread-jacks that AW's has EVER experienced. Bar none ... :D

It MUST be the ChiComs ... or at least, the Norwegians.

What if I post pictures of my ChiCom (aka Norinco SKS)/2xM1 Garand/Turkish Shotguns/Pistolas... Would that be better?!?

Sorry, we got our boarding passes today - and I'm excited!

I've been shopping for a stock to replace the shit that came with my VTR for a while now, but trying to find an adjustable stock that works with the weird barrel profile has proven...difficult. Accuracy International's stuff will fit it though, so I'm eager to see how it works out for you. And a grand isn't necessarily that bad, considering that it converts your 700 to a magazine fed bolt gun. Any particular reason why you went with the folding?

Yeah ... portability ... easier to 'bag-up' and take w/ me in a drag-bag-type/soft case.

ESPECIALLY when I go to county meetings ... the Birkenstock Brigade will think it's a Boda-bag.

Truth be told, I'm more interested in the bridge on that thing than she is... Of course, I'm also interested in the culinary education available as an employee in one of the restaurants...

But I digress, this thread is brought to you by A4's totally sweet Christmas purchase (I'm not allowed to buy any more guns until we get a safe), and the ChiComs...

OK, maybe the Turks... (or MB, who was willing to buy these for us...)

I'll sell you my safe if you want to come get it. I need to upgrade.

It's nothing special, but it's UL listed and does the job.
