Sir, I think your statement (in addition to the supporting ones below it*) is passive-aggressive. If you have a problem with the concept of this website, then why not come out and say it? Instead, it seems like you're guilting the young'uns here out of asking for advice, which is contrary to this website's very existence. No one here is required to contribute in that manner, but I don't understand why you'd get in the way of anyone else.

Abstractly, there is a new tool on the market that allows business X to compete more effectively in an increasingly competitive market. Is business X wise to ignore it because they didn't use it a decade (or five) ago?

*That's why I didn't send a PM.

I think he's just saying that people get spun up over shit they can't control. Who cares what the NSS currently is or what color flight suits you can wear? Prospective ENS thinking about going to flight school shouldn't worry about PERS-43 manning requirements 10 years from now, they should worry about not getting hit by a fucking car while crossing the street and texting. :)

People ask those questions like "what color boots can I wear" because the guys who are in charge these days care about stupid shit like that. Its not the newbies who are lame, its newbies adapting to lame (in some cases) leadership.

Passive-aggressive? Maybe. Do I have a problem with the website? Absolutely not. It's a GREAT website. It would have been nice to have this kind of info back in the day. My point is: I just feel too many here are looking to be spoon-fed vice using their own God-given talents to research, investigate, and LEARN! Do I think people should ignore this resource and go back to doing it the way they did "a decade (or five) ago?" NO. Just THINK a little before posting some of the (what seem to me) ridiculous questions I often read. Just the fact that I am explaining this..................never mind.

So now there's a thread to tell people not to start useless threads...because if we didn't have a thread, people wouldn't know what they weren't supposed to do?

Are you sure you aren't a P-3 guy?

You just showed up, read the material, asked the guys who were a couple of flights or test further down the schedule than you and didnt fuss. We used slides and lots of legal pad drawings.

It's all about being compared to your contemporaries. Back in the day, your first graded hop in the sim was the first time you ever set foot in that thing. Now, if you don't have 10 hours of sim time before your first event you are way behind the power curve. Just the way the game is played these days.

That is the way it's like right now in Primary with the T-34 at Whiting. There are maybe 2 slots of open sim time a day for both the BI and RI guys.

I think your sarcasm detector is inop. The OP was poking a stick at some of the guys who post on AW and try to get gouge on the most asinine subjects possible.
