Traffic tickets?

Unfortunately I got two traffic tickets a while ago (no I am not awaiting trial). One of them is a 1 point violation, the other is a 2 point violation. I have absolutely no other accounts of breaking the law. Will this be a problem?

Most likely not. Don't make it a habit tho. IIRC-Any ticket with a fine over 150 dollars or any sort of criminal penalty is supposed to be reported to the SecCen for security clearance consideration.

Okay...sadly one of my tickets was $240. This was the one they reduced down to a 1 point defective headlight violation. It would have only been $120 but it was doubled because of the school zone, does this count?

Yeah- If you have any paperwork that asks about them- Fess up. Might want to let the next person up your chain know...but other than that. No biggie...Like I said-Just don't make it a habit!!

And take what I said with a grain of salt....I'm CG and I'm not a SecCen type.

Thanks a lot. And don't worry, I will be completely honest about it on my NROTC application, I'd rather try and get a waiver than have something covered up.

Just be straight up and honest. Almost all of us have gotten a traffic ticket at some point in our lives. Just don't get 5 a year or something crazy.

You should be fine. I was cited for "Speeding in excess of 100mph" and "Racing" while I was in college. Just be honest about what happened, and don't let it happen anymore.

Security Clearance states not to include traffic violations that lead to a penalty of under $300.

Had to list a ticket a year prior to commissioning that cost me $427.....speeding with some HEAVY local fees attached to the base fine. Wasn't a problem, nor were the other 2 or 3 speeding tickets I had to mention on previous EPSQ type stuff.

I once got a $350 jaywalking ticket. No shit. I also had at least 6 others within 3 years when I applied to PLC and they didn't care.

Been stopped, but I'm clocking nearly 50 years behind the wheel and no tickets ... knock on wood. Where's some wood to knock on ... ?? :)

Impressive! My mom had a similar record until she got ticketed @ age 64 for not fully stopping before making a right on a red. Then again, women drivers :)

My mother has had one accident (my fault), been stopped once (new car, wrong license plate), never received a ticket. She's 58. Hmm...
