Interesting way to announce your exit from the Naval service

Actually, it's a really good thing that he isn't in a squadron anymore...must have done an awesome job to not even rate a NAM or a mission commander qual on his way out the door. But if you go to his web-site you get to at least see a guy plug his business in uniform while apparently still on active duty.

You guys are merciless! :)

(I was section leader of my OCS class for I think two whole days... expertly leading from the front to get everyone to PT, chow, and academics... on time and on target)

@slug: yep, concur. Most of my own FitReps and award citations are part reality, part exaggeration, and sometimes part comedy.

Good for him I guess. How do I get selected for the elite Jet pipeline? I only had my eyes on the regular one. He's quite the user of intensifying adjectives.
You mean like when he said that "he earned the highly coveted US Navy 'Wings of Gold"? That can't be true, cause we all know they just give em way like candy, right?

It is rather funny though that to a lay person, he does seem like quite the all-American success story, but to anyone with the most rudimentary knowledges about Naval Aviation, he's clearly an underperformer (and all around douche bag).
Because clearly the release was written with those with knowledges in mind. You're pretty quick to pull the trigger on the labels even though, as you say, you've never heard of him.

How do you know? Besides, at his level, I'd expect at least a Navy COM.

You guys crack me up. I remember a few years back when a Marine aviator (IP type) got out and did something similar, we had a few guys here on AW that jumped on the bandwagon to belittle the dude. Pretty fucked up in my opinion. Unless you have personal knowledge of the guy and the kind of officer/aviator he was or wasn't, keep your trap shut. Anything else is just speculation, and uninformed speculation at that.

But if you go to his web-site....
I just did, and HO - LI - SHIT. The press release pales in comparison to the awesomeness that is that video. Clearly, this man needs to harness those mad entrepreneurial skills and put together a steel cage match between himself and Anthony Robbins.

I'd shell out for that.

A NAM is a standard EOT out of a squadron, way it is, way it will be. I know because I did a sea tour in Prowlers, and thus know what guys leave with. Guys get COMs out of high profile shore tours, again, provided they do the job passably well. I'll go ahead and open my trap as I know the guy, and CIVPAC is welcome to him.

What squadron is he in?

You know, there's a graceful way to exit (like Coco), and then there's keeping a literal countdown clock to "freedom".

And he calls himself a Naval Aviator. Obnoxious.

From what I can tell he did the training and the deployments, so yeah, he can call himself a Naval Aviator. Good God, it's not like the dude raped a little boy. I'd say he's earned the right to put a countdown clock on his website. Do you remember when you were waiting to ship out to OCS? I'm sure you were counting the days. The same thing happens when you get out. Counting the days and hours down doesn't make you any less of a Naval Officer or aviator.

I'm wondering if I can put on my resume that I escorted the GTX malingerers around while I was a Candy-O at OCS?
