API rumor control

mh53eflyguy

Stashed...again.
So.....Rumor has it that we are mustering in whites because someone got to meet the local law enforcement folks.

I know I'm about to get flamed, but I'm not going to debate if that rumor is true or not, there is a bigger point to be made. Regardless of the rumor, maybe this will be a wake up call for some of us. I will probably hit the nail on the head of what the LT's and possibly the CDR put out ever-so-kindly on the parade field, but look out for one another, as well as keep yourself in check. If your buddy is consuming mass quantities of liquor and making a complete male anatomy figure of himself, and bringing unwanted attention to himself by the bouncers, police, etc., then GET HIM OUT OF THERE! if it's you, GET OUT OF THERE! For that matter, WHY HAVEN'T YOUR BUDDIES RESCUED YOU YET?

If you are too drunk to drive, they gave us the "tipsy taxi" cards for a reason. USE THEM if you cannot find a ride.

We have a really good deal here at API in A-pool. We muster and leave for the most part, which is more structured than it was before the whole Naples incident this past winter (from what people have told me). We could have it much worse, and one person can, and will create some drama amongst us and we all will pay the consequences for a time until the heat comes off. They will look at this as we have too much idle time on our hands, and they may very well give us something to occupy that time.

Try to not let it get to that point.

Finally, I'm going to pass along the best advice anyone has given me in the Navy, and then I'll get off my soap box. Three things will get your career derailed. Sex, Alcohol, and Ego.
Usually bad things happen when you mix any of those three together and in any concoction.

Use your heads. Keep yourself and your buddies in check.

Flame on!

I also heard a rumor everyone in A-pool is going to be tagged to go IA...

Better yet, if it's something you can't affect, why spread the rumor?

Great Advice

DONT EVER FREAKIN LEAVE YOUR WINGMAN if he is intoxicated or in an unfamiliar location. Nothing good will come of it. If you have to physically carry him home DO IT. I hate watching people go down for stupid crap that could have been prevented if their wingman would not have left them.

If you are the selfish type that believes we are all adults and should police ourselves just remember the following: when you are in the vicinity of an alcohol related incident that you could have prevented, the hammer will most likely fall on you as well.

LOOK OUT FOR YOUR SHIPMATES ITS WHAT WE DO!

And I'm married, now. Those aren't problems. They are solutions.

This thread is already stupid...

You should be spending more time out drinking and less time on AW's bitching about how lame your paid vacation is...

Now I'm back to procrastinating studying NATOPS...

.......now back to all that leadership via airwarriors.

+1. This isn't the first time someone has screwed it away in A-pool (or beyond) and it won't be the last. Your words, however true, wills surely fall on the deaf ears of the next guy to make an example of himself, on the off-chance that he/she is actually reading AW.
