Intro and Available airframes?

Hello, my name is Matt and I'm new to this forum. I'm a flight instructor and worked for the airlines for a couple years and I'm at the age where if I want to become a pilot in the marines I have to do it now as it has always been a dream of mine to be a fighter pilot.

I hate to come on the forum and ask a question that's been asked a million times but I didn't see this anywhere else... Is there any way I can predict if I went to OCS in either end of May or in October if there would be fighter slots available by the time I get there. Someone told me that this would be the place to ask that...

Your answer is maybe. It depends on the needs of the Marines when you finish primary flight training.

I'm going to lock this thread to save you a lot of grief. This question has been asked and answered many, many times. You do not see the answer to your question because you have not done a thorough a search of the site and have not spent enough time already reading what has been posted. After you've take the initiative to do this research, come back and ask specific questions.

In short, no. There's no way to predict or "game" the system to increase your chances of getting one platform or another. Before you get mercilessly flamed, do some more looking around the site. There are tons of great threads about how platform selection works and what the distributions of the various platforms are in each service. After that, come back with some specific (and original) questions and there are lots of folks on here who will be glad to help you out.
