Greetings. My pilot guarantee slot was just kicked back from NAMI with suggested x-rays on the sinus cavity due to a possibility of acute sinusitis. I have seasonal allergies (spring) and can normally clear them up in 2 to 3 weeks with OTC Claritin or Allegra D. Is this an NPQ condition? I have tried to look up waivers on the NAMI website, and they won’t open. Does anyone have experience with this aliment? If so, what hoops did you have to jump through to become medically qualified for flight?

I had the same problem. I got my first flight physical when I had allergies. They told me to get a waters view? (can't remember for certain) x-ray. I got it done when I wasn't feeling congested and was good to go.
Exact same thing happened to me. I had to get x-rays, then I had a CT scan when I was at OCS....sinuses completely swollen shut. I had to wait 3 weeks after we graduated and got another CT scan to show that they were clear. I also had to take Claritin, Flonase, Prednisone (steroid), and Amoxicillin (antibiotic)...all at the same time. Not sure which one made my sinuses better, but it worked. There was some doubt as to whether or not I would be commissioned though. It all worked out. I had to see an Ear Nose and Throat doctor though at NAMI. If the x-rays are clear though I think you would be alright...but I don't really know Navy medicine at all.

The netti pot does work wonders...nasty but it works.
Seasonal you should be fine, but other types of allergies can definitely get you NPQed.
any thoughts/opinions/experience with sinus irrigation?
got a pretty bad cold and now I'm plugged up, however the time left to pass the PFT is running short before OCS. I would hate to not be contracted in time because of this nastiness.

I was all clogged up, I thought my head was going to explode and my jaw was going to come off while chewing. After two days with the Netti Pot, I was comfortable again, within a week I was clear. No Anti-biotics.

Be careful when you get Claritin, because they also sell Claritin-D, which I believe DOES carry a decongestant. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure thats the case.
Did you read the second half of my post?
I specifically said you can't have a decongestant and fly. I mentioned Alegra D as an example, Claritin D would also fall into the same category. Straight up Claritin is fine, which is what I posted in the first place.

Has anyone ever used Singular for seasonal allergies? I've been using claritin, but sometimes it isn't strong enough... especially around cedar trees and pollen. My mom let me try Singular for a couple of days and it works wonders. I saw on the wavier guide that it doesn't require a wavier, but I'm a bit wary of showing up to OCS for the flight physical with it, since it is also used for asthma. Thoughts anyone?
