HELP!!!! IT2 to Ensign????

Here is my question/problem. I am an IT2 w/ 5 years of services. I will be 29 this October and end of my first enlistment in Dec 2011. I have been at my new command at DISA for two months now and I am thinking about applying to a program to become an officer. I know that I may require a wavier. My question is what are my odds at getting the commission and what programs can I apply for at my age? I do have a BS and I am applying to gradate schools for this fall.

Welcome to AirWarriors, IT2.

First, I edited your signature. You probably don't need to post full name, all official email addresses and your phone numbers in your signature. We can help you without all of that, and in the end you probably don't want it floating around the internet.

Second, have you had a chance to search around? We can't give you odds on your situation, but there is a lot of information already posted that might answer some of your questions.

I would also suggest talking to your command career counselor and the officers in your command.
 
All I can say is that I am a PS3 (5 years Reserve) and am 35. :eek: Reporting to OCS in a few weeks for Intel.

You need to go talk to CCC for all those details.

well, from my experience, the age issue will limit you as far as STA-21 goes, only a couple options have age limits above your age, and the highest is 31, so you probably cant go that route, but there is LDO once you pick up E-6 and hit 8 years, which has no age limit, or you can complete a bachelors degree and then apply for OCS like twitter. there are several commissioning path options, but your CCC will be your best bet for finding out which one is best for you. You can search OCS on this site and get tons of info to help you as well.

Read the original post more carefully and follow the thread to really be helpful. The poster has a degree already and the age limits for some OCS programs are as high as 35, not even counting active duty age waivers. Your info on STA-21 is helpful and as a STA-21 guy you have the gouge. The rest wasn't helpful at all. Glad you want to help. Try not to confuse anyone.
 
Intel, Supply, AMDO, IW, and PAO all have age limits of 35 for commissioning, so you would not need an age waiver to apply for any of these programs.
