I think I was derailed after the first post. What's going on? From what I gather, a happy medium would be to fill some paintball grenades with pig's blood. As a hardnose Marine, it's difficult to communicate with some people. Not sure why, though...

She really needs to work on her quads to support that severe weight and balance problem. I wonder if the NAV/COM section is workable or its its just for static display...... Looks like some weak areas in the landing gear too.

That is the kind of mind set I have when I or my family is threatened. If a threat is terminated, they can no longer be a threat. You'll play hell trying to change my mind in that regard. I find it hard to believe a military group is going touchy feeley .............

You are putting your personal feelings regarding threats in an argument on treatment of our enemies. If someone broke into my house, tried to shoot me repeatedly (maybe even wounding a family member), and I cornered them & they surrendered? Well, I would have to think long and hard about not shooting them point blank in the heat of the moment. That is different in how we tell our guys on the ground to treat the enemy if they find someone who has surrendered and is in their custody (even if that person shot their buddy).

We all want to protect our family, FlyingRock and stop any threat on them. That is different from military policy; especially one that would create more enemies than it would get rid of.

Oh, and I say fake.

See. that is the problem. A different point of view. After a lot of years of watching bad guys get a relative slap on the wrist, a koombayahh, and released to do more harm to others. I'd just as soon be the judge and jury in the field and terminate the problem right there. That will certainly be the case if they penetrate my perimeter. I no longer take prisoners. Call it uncivilized. The effectivness is no one wants to take a chance on fucking with me or my family. I could give a shit about PC and all it entails. That is in part what has brought us to this point of accomodation with our enemies.

I bet some army bubbas may disagree. Does the USMC not fall under the same UCMJ that US Army does? If someone comes out with their hands up trying to surrender, is a Marine infantrymen more likely to take him down VS Army infantrymen because You take NO prisoners?
Does a soldier not share the same warrior spirit of his Marine bretheren?

I'm NOT trying to be clever here but how do you assume that a Marine inflicts more fear than an Soldier?

During WWII [, Korea and]......Vietnam our enemy used harsh traps and torutured the hell out of Americans, they used trip wire and wooden spikes, hammered bamboo under the fingernails of American, yet.....we did not return the favor....and the outcome was less than favorable.

And did any of those tactics used by the Japanese, Germans, North Koreans, Chinese or Vietnamese really work? Did they gain much useful intelligence by torturing our servicemen? I would argue a simple and emphatic NO.

When I asked a Marine CWO Interrogator if torture works he rolled his eyes and basically said that 'Only an idiot thinks so', in slightly more colorful language. :icon_roll

Where in hell did you grow up and go to school?
All you have to do is go back thru history and see when the enemy was more fearful of his opponents. Certainly there are Army units who are to be respected and feared in combat and they are named. OTOH, the entire fucking USMC is feared by the enemy? I have many emails to describe specifics in Iraq and Afganistan and the USMC again has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. That has been historical back to the very earliest days of the Marine Corps.
If someone targets your family, do you want some Army MP unit there in their white helmets and boot laces to "protect" your family, or perhaps a unit with blue helmets that say UN, or a squad of USMC that will take no prisoners? Ummm who was it at Kent State? That was a real tradegy and not to be forgotten. Then there was Chosin Resevoir and many other places similar. Check your history before you accuse me of arrogant statements.
Pardon me for arrogance. I choose to live on the edge and associate with those who feel the same, so if I seem arrogant and aloof from time to time, call it HONEST arrogance.

It is distressing that too many people watch TV and think it is real? But, I love it when the Bad Guys watch the TV nonsense at use it for training films. Makes it a lot easier to kill their stupid asses when they try it in real life.
Call it old age, but I get concerned when I see posts that base their arguments or postiions on fallacy, fantasy, pure stupidity and utter lack of any common sense.
