Longest Flight?

In Pursuit

6.5 hrs (A-7E), Central Med to Turkey bombing range and back to Mother. Intercepted 3x each way (enroute and RTB) by Hellenic Air Force IVO Crete (man, those acft were spotless compared to our mid-cruise, grimy Corsairs :icon_brav). Tanked about 3x. Great flight for two LTs (me: flight lead and second cruise JO; wingman: nugget). Felt like "dad" had given us the keys to the family car for a weekend. Nice to be away from "adult" supervision (read: squadron CO, XO, CAG, boat CO etc) for a few hours in the middle of cruise (funny how that perspective changed when I had became a Skipper...:D)

Of course, there are always the discussions about porn movies that are done on "ICS".

No such thing as porn on det/deployment. I've never seen it. Now, instructoinal videos and manuals, lots of those - BUT FOR EDUCATION PURPOSES ONLY!

6.2 in the A-6E from Oceana w/ 12 x Mk 82 Snakes for a long range Hi-Lo-Hi opposed (sort of - the air war was waaay above us) night strike on goggles into one of the Tonapah targets, then over to Fallon for a cold beer or three.

I know my Dad has at least a couple of 10.0+ in the Skyraider coast-to-coast never climbing above 200 feet AGL. I'll have to ask him.

On the flip side, I'm curious if anyone can beat this dubious record:
June 6, 1987
4 man-ups
4 flights
4 different aircraft
6 traps (5 Day / 1 night) aboard Super Sara
0.9 (zero point nine) total flight time, the hard way

There's gotta be a story here.

Where is Huggy to chime in on this?

12.2 hours in Feb 2005.
0 air refuelings. :p
Had plenty of gas to go to 13-14 hours, had it been required. :banghead_
FYI: a fully loaded U-2 takes off with 2950 gallons of fuel... about 20,000#.

Yeah.....it is called a piddle pack.

I have one of the new G-suits and I have no idea how the f@#! I'm supposed to take a piss, when its hard enough to stand up with all the crap on and piss. I wish they could install a zipper on the front of the G-suit from the belly down it would make it so much easier.

During CQ I logged a mighty .8, but was strapped in the Rhino for 7+ hours, 2 pilot switches, one bottle of water, 2 piddle pack breaks, and one sandwich before flight ops were stopped for the night.

How many tanks is that? That's a long damn ways to go single-engine with not much other than water to land in.

A lot, but keep in mind on Translant/Transpac flights the USAF has it worked out with minimal time out of range of a divert so you're never waiting until low state to tank. A lot of times you'll plug and only take a couple thousand lbs.
