Someone PLEASE tell this story. I hope the base CO personally shot him, then booted him from the pipeline.
Yeah...it's weird though. They didn't actually "apply" the sticker right then and there. They told her to go by pass and ID to get them. You know she did too...

Originally the changes were supposed to crack down on cell phones since the base CMC almost got run over by someone talking. The base CO was apparently at the NEX gas station and saw someone talking while fueling and informed them it was unsafe. ENS gets pissed/ continues talking and gets into vehicle/starts it up; CO then tells him phones are prohibited while driving. ENS then flips off CO and drives away, which results in the CO having his license plate and description. He then proceeds to have security hunt for the driver. Don't know what eventually happened to the ENS.
Okay I must have been confusing those stories....how things get twisted in the student rumor mill

Post Ivan upgrades and all
You ain't lying brother. Broke my heart to see all of that money go into redecorating/rebuilding after Ivan, only to be a ghost town every FRI evening.
Remember it being jumping on FRI nights during API (frequented during last couple of weeks in training, then a period while on hold for Whiting) when every API student had to have a club membership.
On a side note, after pulling up the carpet during post Ivan renovation, the club staff discovered some awesome art deco designs in the original tile. Stuff from way back. They had the floors stripped of glue and polished to a restored shine. Some club manager years ago didn't like the flooring and simply covered these works of art with carpet.
P. S. Is the speed limit towards the back gate still 35 MPH?

Jeebus... I think Darwin will take of that young lad one way or another... Hopefully he does not kill someone else in the process, when Darwin does pay him a visit...
It's 35 immediately after the gate for a short stretch, but then becomes 45 and stays that way until a point just past the TW-6 buildings but before the museum. Then it's 35 again until you hit the rescue swimmer school where it becomes 25.
That carpet had been down forever. I remember going to that club for Sunday brunch back in the 80's, and the old man said he didn't remember seeing that floor going back to the early 70's. It really does look amazing.
