How do you edit a post?

I need to edit my post on the houses for sale or rent forum. I can not see any edit link and my post is locked for some reason. I have sent 2 private posts to that forums administrator/moderator with out a reply.

Can some one tell me what's going on?

Thanks OB

I don't know about the lock, but editing the post is done by..... pressing the "Edit" button at the bottom right of the post.

Before you get offended thinking people are blowing you off, realize that many of the mods and the webmaster are still on active duty so they deploy or go TAD on a regular basis. As such, whoever you sent a PM to might not have access to the site to answer your question.

For regular users, after a certain amount of time, you lose the ability to edit your posts. I don't know what that time frame is, I guess I need to find out. If you need something edited, post it here and one of us will "fix the glitch" for you. Another option is to report your post and in the reason for reporting it, just ask to have it changed to read whatever.

Crowbar, really? I've been posting on here for a little while an still have the ability to edit.

Not anymore... jk

Ok, all registered users have the ability to edit their posts for a limited time frame. Both the title and the post itself can be edited within 24 hours of the post. After that, you can't edit it. This is done because we had some ppl that got caught with some tall tales and they were trying to quickly delete their posting history. Any guesses from our AW plank owners?

As for emails, I get a bunch, and I am behind on some of them since I just moved and have had limited internet. But I don't recall getting one mentioning an edit to a post. Best bet as always is to report a post, and it gets flagged in the private forum for the mods so a bunch of us can see it and hopefully help out.

Not a plankowner but would Skeeterman have something to do with that or was it before then?

I think you hit the nail on the head. Ole "Skeeterman" was very busy when he was called out. Not just here, but other forums as well.;)

Integer was the one I was thinking of when I posted, but Skeeter falls into that category too.
