Evil Black Rifle question

So I hemmed and hawed over whether to buy an AK or an AR before the change of administration. Broke down and acquired a Sabre Defence M4gery at Kesselring's. Figured better to get an AR so I can swap out uppers.

The clerk who rung me up overheard me talking to some other random dude about procuring other uppers, and said I had to be sure that I got any other uppers from Sabre, as another company's upper wouldn't play well with a Sabre lower.

My BS detector was going off . . . can anyone corroborate?

Quick question about M4gery stuff,

if I was wanting to put like some diopter sights (normally found on the HK 416 and MP5 series) on an M4's top rail, would it have a drastic effect as far as zero-ing in, and all of that jazz?

I've seen some uppers that resisted mating up with certain lowers (push pin hole size). It just took a little extra force on the pins for them to make nice.

Pin hole size would be the only thing that I've noticed as said above. If everything is made to spec and you're staying within the caliber, it should work.

Agree with what others have said about pin size. Only other thing I can think of is appropriate buffer and spring for whatever upper you're throwing on.

And by that, you mean if I was switching to, say 6.5 Grendel, then I'd need a new buffer? As opposed to, say, a 20" rifle upper which is still 5.56?

I was thinking more for going from say a 20" upper to something like a 10.5". I had some extraction/feed issues after switching to a 10.5" upper, but they were fixed by a heavier buffer.

Heck at least you can buy one. I piddled to see who won the election and then decided to get one. However now since I am playing in the sand land I found out I cant order an evil assault weapon and pay for it but have my next of kin pick it up for me. WTF! Why cant the ATF make exception for those of us serving in a combat zone especially with a copy of orders and ID?.

Although whats funny was I did send the paperwork to the CMP to get a M1 Carbine and 1903 Springfield which will be sent by registered mail along with a ton of ammo. Ironic that I can get that from the govt but not buy one from the gun shop.

Are you talking about getting it delievered to Iraq or to a dealer back home? If it is back home, how are you going to get it? If it is to Iraq, you can't because of idiots like this:

I had a DMPS upper that had slight had some trouble with a RRA lower, The rear takedown pin was very tight but after a few knocks in and out it loosened up. Conversely if you have an upper/lower that is too loose they make a little product that fits behind your rear takedown pin. It's like a little red wedge. Accu-wedge is what it's called if i'm not mistaken.

Personally I wouldn't want it delivered in country because the m9 is enough to keep track of already. Although kudos to the people who recommended the galco shoulder holster its been working great.

I was referring to being able to buy something back home either from a dealer or such as gunbroker.com (which ships to an FFL anyway). I would prefer to be able to buy something via visa and have my dad pick it up and take it home and put in the safe. The email I had got from one dealer stated that the ATF required a transfer direct, which im like ok sure fine. What about those of us who are in a combat zone at the pleasure of the goverment shouldnt they make some sort of exception? Such as requiring orders and ID an a power of attorney designating the person picking it up as my represenative?

Although I might call and ask and see how long would they be willing to hold something for me. Since then it would be purchased prior to any potential ban it would be grandfathered int but Im not sure many dealers would be willing to hold it for me for like 6 months.
