Is everyones information getting updated on netfocus? I have everything submitted with the exception of my degree plan but have yet to see it show. I know Ed is swamped I just like to see the details and get a warm and fuzzy feeling.

When have alternates traditionally been notified or called up? I am assuming just as spots open? Anyone fail a physical yet? ;)

Has any prior selectee heard of anyoen not getting their choice of college? I have only applied to ERAU and that is really the only school I plan on attending. I have already sent in all my documents with acceptance letter and degree plan from ERAU and am wondering if I should apply elsewhere as a back-up.

The year I got picked up ODU filled up, and I think there ended up being a few that had to take a 2nd choice school. There are quotas for each school, but they're large enough its usually not an issue when you're spreading a few hundred selectees across about a hundred schools. If it does fill up, they'll cut orders first to the one's who got their stuff in first.

Embry Riddle because its a private (and expensive) school has never maxed out to my knowledge.

FY 09 CORE Selectee!
I was an alternate last year and I got my call from Ed about a week before christmas. He asked me if I was still eligable, or if there was any reason I wouldnt be and then gave me my NSI dates and told me I would have orders come february. I dont remember why the orders were delayed, funding I think, but I got them right when he said I would :)

My husband was accepted to the STA-21 program, going to school in Feb. He has done the physical but is starting the application process. We were told it would take 6 weeks from the time all transcripts are received to get a response at our top choice. Is there any way to get a faster response? Or has anyone been told when the acceptance letters are due? We haven't received anything in the mail from STA-21 yet. Thanks in advance and congratulations to everyone!

As far as getting accepted into the University faster; bug them. Every day. Let them know that there is a compressed time schedule to get accepted. Either they will push everything through faster, or tell you straight up that it can't be done. Either way, you will know the outcome sooner rather than later. Naturally, I would also apply to other schools as a backup in case it didn't work out.

ODU straight up told me to get a letter on command letterhead stating my name program and why i need my application expidited. so i decided to do that for all of my applications.

Naval Science Courses

I've been looking unsuccessfully for the two Naval Science courses that we are required to take in college so I can ensure they make it on my degree plan. Does anyone know the exact names of these? Thank you.

FY-11 Core
I was a SWO/IP alternate for FY09, so it took 2 tries for me.

did u get picked up for SWO/IP this year? if so are u the IT2, FC2 or PS3? I'm SWO/IP alt this year and this might be my last year (even thou first time app) for all the 28 yr old age limit options (24 going 25 this year)

Ok, I asked this question I think once before but dont think I got the answer I was looking for.......

I got picked up for CORE option. If (worse case scenario) I have to be in school for 36 months, I will be 28 going on 29 by the time I graduate. I was told that in your Senior Year, you go through a couple of boards with community managers to see what your designation will be. I would like to go SWO but you have to be commissioned before your 28th birthday for that designator. I was also looking at SWO/ED (Which I originally applied for) but SWO/ED is a Restricted Line Community for commissioning prior to age 35. Now its to my understanding that no waivers are issued beyond 28 for SWO. If you are in Core, can the community manager still take you even if the CORE waiver is 29 and SWO cutoff is 28? And if you are CORE are you still allowed to apply for SWO/ED? I'm just trying to get some insight from a former CORE selectee if possible. Thanks for any and all help

I know this applies to those directly applying for SWO Option but I would think the same standards apply:

From OPNAVINST 1420.1A CH. 8:

Age. STA-21 SWO Option selectees must be able to com-
plete degree requirements and be commissioned prior to age 31.
Maximum age limit may be adjusted upward for active service on a
month-for-month basis up to 24 months. Waivers beyond 24 months
will be considered for enlisted personnel who possess particu-
larly exceptional qualifications provided they can be commis-sioned prior to their 35th birthday.

Ok, so I'm working on getting all my paperwork together to submit to NSTC and while I'm not stressing much, I am concerned and confused about the deadline. NAVADMIN 329/09 says the deadline for those items will be released viz SEPCOR, and I'll be honest, I have no idea what that means.

If I'm supposed to report to NSI 16MAY10, anyone else with that date know the dealine for the post selection followup paperwork?
