Aviation for the masses?

Sign me up, that looks badass. Hopefully its mass appeal won't turn too many PPLs into licenses to die :icon_glas

As if the assholes towing banners across the approach end of NOLFs weren't bad enough, next thing we'll be worrying about is cell phone talking soccer moms trying to cause midairs.

Ah for the days when aviation was a gentleman's pursuit. Back before every Joe sweatsock could wedge himself behind a lunch-tray and jet himself off to Raleigh-Durham.

Looks like a really shiny ultralight.

At $139K i don't see this as being aimed at the masses...

How much easier is a sport cert vice a PPL?

Yes, and buzz-cut Alabamians spewing colored smoke in their whiz-jets to the strains of Rock You Like a Hurricane. What kind of country-fried rube is still impressed by that?

By the way, are you getting lots of bugs in your teeth, too?

...not a fan of Rotax though.

Then you definitely shouldn't get involved w/ anything sport aviation related (or Jet Skis).

SeaRey kits are cheaper. You can find some already built or almost complete. They don't look as polished as the one above, though.

Now if I can just afford the gas and insurance...

The new Cessna two seater is around $130k as well as some other kit builts like RVs'. Personally I hope this design does well for no other purpose then it looks cool and I think it's a great idea to be able to use your garage as a hanger rather than renting one out and getting held hostage by an airport (in some cases). Do I think this will bring aviation to the masses? Of course not, people are scared sh**less of flying.
