Control Stick Tap Handle

Many of the squadron bars I have been in have had a brass tap handle resembling a control stick from the jet. Would anyone have an idea how I could get one of these for my home bar?

The ones I've seen have been recovered from crashed aircraft. So your solution is to crash a jet, survive, and ensure the stick/throttle are salvageable.

...or you could buy a computer joystick or reproduction and rig it. Your call.

We have a lower ejection seat handle in ours which was recovered from a derelict A-6 in the NORVA area. :D

Maybe getting this one bronzed would be the best idea? Either way, everyone is welcome to come try it out once this project is complete.

There ya go, maybe I'll make a trip to have that first beer as a commissioned officer. :D

I know...gotta get there first.

Go to the avionics shop of the main hanger at NDZ/South Whiting/TH-57 Land - whatever contractor now has the TH-57 maintenance contract. You could (and I have) bribe (alcohol) the maint guys for one that would be trashed/destroyed anyways.

Same goes for TH-57 Tail rotor blades - which look magnificent by the way, stripped and polished and hung on the wall!

I wish! I'm at NZY and thats certainly a long ways from NDZ.

Shot in the dark - I bribe intermediaries well......

I am running into difficulties figuring out how to attach the control stick to the tap. Would any of you guys have a picture of your handle from the bar?

This was the first thread I read after I’d signed on this afternoon. What does that tell you about MY priorities?:icon_wink
