Esquire article here. Number 1 is "Give advice that matters in one sentence." Number 75 is "Negotiate a better price." Flying or Navigating an aircraft did not make the list, but "Sounding cool over the radio" should have. This list has most everything!

12. Show respect without being a suck-up. Respect the following, in this order: age, experience, record, reputation. Don't mention any of it.

You heard it first hear kids - Esquire officially endorses McCain! Unless they are talking about several of our AW heroes :D

64. Know that Christopher Columbus was a son of a bitch. ...I later learned that he was a hand-chopping, land-stealing egotist who sold out an entire hemisphere to European avarice.
BS. Columbus did some bad stuff, but his reputation has been drug through the mug way past what it deserves.

Most of the rest, though... not bad.

+1 I remember when we were kids, Columbus was always the one guy on the football team that would take up for the nerd getting stuffed in his locker.

Helluva guy!

It's always interesting to read these magazines that say what a guy should and shouldn't be. They have good info and can be entertaining, but they're just that, entertainment. Men who take this stuff too seriously need a life, or more importantly need to think for themselves. This was a pretty good list, I'll admit, but when a magazine tells me I need a matching toiletry kit that costs $300 and am not a true man unless I own a $5000 suit and drink gin martini's, I lost interest and the magazine loses credibility.

We need a smiley ref throwing a yellow flag for these kind of situations. Although rare, it would make a nice addition.

True, but "55. Point to the north at any time." did, and most of us can do the latter as a by-product of the former.

I would add...

76. How to quickly and smoothly unfasten a bra with one hand, without looking, even the front fastener kind.
