I guess P3s aren't a part of NAE... :(

That's because you P-3 guys are busy enjoying your Per Diem at some sunny locale. Like this:

Ah yes, good ol' Deigo Garcia. The Footprint of Freedom. The ship I was deployed on went to DG to get a main engine changed-out while the rest of the BG went to Mombasa, Kenya. We spent 10 days on that god-forsaken piece of coral.

I say they're loading them, but I can't figure out why. We all know that once the P-3 shows up on station, they'll have some sort of engine problem and RTB. It's science.

I spent a week there awaiting transportation to the CV(A)N in SEP 1984. I was 18 and we drank all the cold beverages we could get our hands on, but couldn't wait to get off that rock. Much to my dismay, I joined the BOAT right after they pulled into the Indian Ocean and I wouldn't touch land for more than 3 months.

Hey! I was there May of 1985. How did you like still having to take Navy showers when you are on land? DG doesn't have a natural water cycle. They had to make fresh water with evaporators. The chow hall had good food though.

Were you headed to the Big E, BTW?
