Along the lines of MasterBates O'Club revival stories. The Norfolk O'Club (the one nearest gate 4) will open their bar on Friday 2Nov 3pm-5pm ($1 drinks) as a test to see what sort of business can be had. If successful they will entertain more hours of operation.

So come out and have a couple after work.

Dude Breezy Point in the 80's at NGO was where it was at in the 80's :) .50 beers, plenty of chicks, and a BOQ room in stumbling distance...ahhhh the memories!

It was either that or slum in Oceana.

I hope this takes!

Hmmm, I'll be in Norfolk on Friday - but unfortunately too late to partake. Once I start doing my drills down there with the Geese, I'll keep abreast and do the best MB impersonation I can do (considering as how I'm a little short guy).

the last time I was in No'folk over the summer, the women were, uh, ......
not the same caliber as the San Diego nubiles, shall we say.

Nothing a few beers cant handle. How do you think I've survived the past three years?

But yes Norfolk ladies do not compare to the San Diego variety. That said come out anyway!

I will be there when I get done here. I will be leading the charge from the FRP front @ -120 when I get done here.

Use YOUR O'Clubs or we will lose them. Great for Pre-Gaming or debriefing after work.

So where does the O-club here at NASP stand? it seems like a pretty cool place, but don't know how it compares. Gouge I hear is that it's one of the better ones...

it is......Mustin beach O club always had one of the best brunches when I was a kid there in the 80's....don't know how it stacks up now. When I was at NASP, we normally went to Ducks to drink...because I wasn't quite commissioned yet.

I wouldn't recommend anything off the menu at Breezy Point. However the buffet is usually pretty tasty. Lunch is usually pretty busy. Its my standard lunch considering its a two minute walk from my office.

Word from the Base CO here at NUW is that they are looking into funding the utility bills for the clubs with DoD $$$ instead of making them pay for it out of profits . . . apparently it's allowed, and the Army and AF do it but we don't :)eek:). This will apparently really help their bottom line.

Hey Nittany...
I remember telling the NUW XO ( Cdr Dan Brown's ) wife, while she was cutting my hair at the Q...why the O'club sucked. He called her on the phone 2 minutes later and she made me talk to him!!

Breezy Point's quality fluctuates wildly, for some reason. I don't know if they have a high manager/staff turnover or what. Bottom line, Nawfuk is a Shoe base, and the Club is a Shoe Club. Not to say that's bad, it's just not the same atmosphere as, say, Oceana.

Ducks in P'cola is gone - Ivan demolished it, along with McD's, the hangar gym, the old RSS building...pretty much everything on the seawall except the Land Survival building. They finally shoveled all the sand out of the O-Club and reopened it early this year. The Ready Room doesn't have that well-weathered feeling it used to, and it was kind of hit-or-miss for the first few months, but when I left in July it was humming along nicely. They also seem to be making an effort to open up and use the rest of the building. I mean, they have that spectacular view of the P'cola Sound in the rooms that are empty 90% of the time.

Of the ones I've seen, the Fallon O-Club seems like the last of the Back In The Day clubs. End of the day, everyone's there telling lies, rolling dice, shooting down their watches. Food's good, beer's cold, stumbling distance to the Q, and when an Air Wing's in town they close when the last guy leaves.

The I-bar was still like this when I was there for NHA Symposium last year...

Ran up my SECOND $200+ tab while I was there...damn Ship, Captain, crew...

Tell LCOL W that I send my best and appreciate all the Geese did for NHA Fleet Fly In this year.
