Saturday, September 8th I accomplished my goal and earned my private pilot's license. Im only 17 years old right now and it feels great to have this 'license to learn'. I cannot wait to one day fly for the Navy!

Congratulations! What is even more impressive is that you view it as a 'license to learn.' An attitude like that is worth its weight in gold in aviation and others pursuits.

Yep.. First HAC flight in a 60, I heard all sorts of noised. I had never noticied the whine and spoolup/down of the ECS befre that flight.

Yep.. First HAC flight in a 60, I heard all sorts of noised. I had never noticied the whine and spoolup/down of the ECS befre that flight.

You know, I always heard that but when my Cherry HAC ride came around, it sounded the same to me. Probably because the CO required us to have almost 700 hours before we started the syllabus... Nf flex shaft failure at the 5 mile ring of TQ - That's a sound I had never heard before...

Yeah, it sucked... I hit 500 hours (our old CO was strict about getting us in the syllabus as soon as you hit 500) right before the change of command. It rolls around (minus the band if you know what I mean), and BOOM - I'm 200 hours away from the syllabus. I ended up starting it around 650-ish...

I've been bucked/trampled on several occasions and only once have I not grabbed saddle and near run that horse into the ground(I didn't get back on that time because I had to help my dad after she bucked me three times and broke 5 of his toes). I've had to have dental work over a horse kick to the head and I still love to ride. So don't stop flying just because of some stupid crash; I wager that quitting isn't worth it.

I get what you're saying, being positive but it's certainly easier said than done. Good on this young one for getting through it though.
