CV 67 Decom Vid

Lonestar155

is good to go
I apologize for putting up another youtube video, but there is some great footage of CV 67's final cruise out of Mayport Fl. Sad to see her go as this was one of the first carrier's I ever stepped foot on with my father. Aside from all the malfunction problems the ship had, that I read about on here, I am sure many of you have had some great memories. Enjoy

CV 67 not CVN 67. The JFK is an oil burner, not a nuke.

Too bad it has deteriorated almost as badly as Teddy.

Salt water and steel do not go well together. That's a fact.

I'm pretty sure the saltwater had jack to do with the 1/2 inch of grime that was visible just about everywhere from 03 level down. It looked as if the 1st LT was nonexsistent. I dont think that TR has seen fresh paint anywhere in about 3 years (slight.....slight exaggeration)

Here are a couple of pics I took of the JFK this morning as she returned to Mayport from Boston. Quite a few people showed up to welcome her home...

Pics are from Norfolk to Boston and back. Larger sizes available on request. I almost got the TR in the 3-island shot, but the hornets on the bow cats obscured her.

Was really not happy that I didn't get down to the harbor - had a lot of work to get done that weekend. Looks like it was pretty neat to see...

Still, saltwater and steel don't go well together, now do they?
