A) In a majority white (Aryan...?) populace, Asians are going to stand out more, thus any negative "attention" will be amplified. Even if it begins on a subconcious or irrational level.

Going out on a limb here.

No limb. On a very basic level, it was easy to pull all of the Asian-lookin' folks out of society and put them in camps; a number of non-Japanese immigrants ended up detained because they "looked Japanese." Some Germans and Italians were detained following the attack on Pearl Harbor, but it wasn't in numbers rivaling the Japanese internment because a) Germans and Italians were never classified as an "enemy race," b) Germans and Italians were considered a powerful enough voting block that Roosevelt preferred to praise them for their loyalty and leave them be, and c) it was easy enough to change your name from "Weisman" to "White" and fly under government radar.

Becasue of the Battle of Okinawa. German troops did in fact surrender and though there were some fanatics they werent all fanatics. After Okinawa with Kamikazes and civilians throwing their children off cliffs the Americans realize just how fanatical the Japanese were and something had to be done to bring the war to a close without a million or so US casualties and the very possible end to the Japanese as a people. Germany surrendered before the bombs were ready.

Also geography played a role, Japan is an Island and therefore a nuclear explosion there would not impact her neighbors as much. Had Berlin been hit with an Atomic bomb depending on the winds Poland, France or Italy (all in Allied hands) would have suffered some casualties.

And honestly Japan deserved it, more people were killed with samurai swords (rape of Nanking anyone) than the entire bombing campaign against Japan.

To answer your orginal question, first off, as a marine you cant become a medical person in general. Like previously stated, all the tstaff corps and support comes from the navy. A corpsmen is an enlisted job, so as an officer you would have to becoem a nurse or a doctor or a PA, or something along those lines.
so to do what you wanted, you would have to laterally transfer to the navy. But once you would do that, its hard to become one. the waiting list and the need is long and high. The school is realitivly short compared to the things that they can do, but there are so many other little courses and classes that they have to take. They are the most decorated corps in the Navy, they are veyr protective of who gets in and such.

Well you can always become a pilot first then later be disqualified from flying after a class a mishap then later diagnosed with night blindness. Keep your wings, then transfer to the medical corps and save the world McGyver style.
