So do I wear ONE (1) Contact Lens?

NOMI/NAMI (whatever) says I've got 20/20 in the left and 20/40 in the right eye. I've got the issued shades, but I'm thinking contacts would be a better bet.

I'm just wondering if I would only wear one contact lens or not...? It wouldn't seem that would be the way to do it, but I have zero experience with the whole eyes thing so I was going to see what you all had to say.

Thanks,

J,

I'm in a similar situation where I have to wear the glasses because I have an asitgmatism in one eye. The first question I asked when they told me I had to wear them was about contacts. The doc was pretty vague, but the gist of her response was that I'd get more leeway after getting through the program. Either was, best bet is to ask someone at branch.

I fully intended to see someone at branch, but I was merely hoping to hear if anyone on here had any first-hand dealings with a "one-eye" issue and contacts.

I do appreciate your response, Mojo.

I'm in the same boat as you (slightly less than 20/20 in left eye), and that is what I plan to do

jai,
I'm pretty sure you can wear an individual contact lens, but keep in mind that a contact lens prescription is different than a normal eyeglass prescription, and that the vision in your worse eye could require special lenses, i.e. toric lenses for astigmatism, (like I wear), and so in this case Brett's right...the best answer is to see an optometrist for your individual eye needs. And oh by the way, the Military wont flip the bill for contact lenses until you're winged...just some extra info to consider...
