Well there was that girl from last summer.....this one....

Oh my God...can we please let that die? I DID send her home and I think I've been doing a good job of keeping my relationship woes off the board. I'm not saying I haven't said a single word about it because I KNOW someone with too much time will dig through every thread I've written and find something, but talk of women has slacked off dramatically.

Now back to this dog thing...whoever it was that said I should have peanut butter when I get home from a deployment...you are a sick mofo.

Too much time? It took about 10 seconds with the search function to find it. How could anyone forget it? It was such a memorable thread, one of the all time best...

If you absolutely have to get a pet while you're single and on active duty, you should look into fostering for a rescue organization. You'd be providing a safe home and social skills for a pooch when you're in town, and when you go out on det or deployment, they'll arrange another home for it. They usually pay for all the vet bills and food and such. It's a little tough letting the dog go when they find a family of their own.. I had the BEST 4 month old golden retriever (golden retriever rescue got her from a Navy family who paid a lot of money for a 2 month old pup, and decided a month later that it was too hard to house train a puppy... duh..), but just placed her with a really nice family this week. It's a good thing tho' as I'm going on det next week to Florida..

When I was at New River, we had a group of buddies from work who would dog sit for each other. When I got back from CAX, my golden was waiting for me in the parking lot. That was great...

Actually...peanut butter has a pretty long shelf life... and whatever...the dog loves it! LOL...just playin.

Sorry, on detachment with very few americans to entertain myself with...I'll try to be more prudent.
