I thought dollar cost averaging was when I had the ability to buy JDSU Uniphase stock at $1.32 a share last year after I had bought tons of it at over $100 a share in 1999!

What are everyone's thoughts on variable life insurance policies? My husband wanted to have a little extra life insurance than the 400k and the financial advisor at NFCU thought that would be a good way to go. You pay almost 300/month for 250k in coverage, but it is tax defered and supposed to be somewhat of a retiremnent coverage too? Not sure how I feel about it???

Not an expert but I looked inot them and they are not a good deal as an investment. The other thing to be cognizant of is that the benefits are signifigantly reduced if he were to die in a military aircraft.
I would look long and hard a that. If you want insurance Navy Mutual aid is pretty good. As for investments stick with either a Roth or a tradional IRA.
