LES Allotment Question

So I'm looking at my LES and I saw that something named AFAF allotment has been getting taken out of my pay for as far back as I could see. Anyone know what this is? I did a search and all I could come up with was the Air Force Assistance Fund which looked like something akin to our Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society. If that's the case, then why the %@#$ am I paying for Air Force charity?!?!?!!!!!

It is on my husbands too and he said that is for the Navy/Marine Relief Society. I guess you have to sign up for it like a Navy/Marine Corp Relief drive once a year. Hope that helps!

what is the amount? if it's 50 cents, then that's for the navy home.

I know on my so's I think it was 1.00-2.00, he didn't enroll in it this year. Yeah we have the .50 for the Navy home..just found out what that was this morning:), and here I thought I was on top of things:) ha!

Okay, seriously, are we using that CincHouse lingo around here now? "SO", "DH", etc. 'Cause if we are...I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

My Navy/Marine Relief Society contribution shows up on my LES as AFAF allotment. Unlike the Navy home allotment the amount for Navy/Marine Corps Relief can be different because different people can choose to contribute different amounts.

That's what I thought it was, I was just hoping someone else could confirm it. The only problem is that they are taking out more than I thought I authorized, oh well, here comes another year's worth of dealing with disbursing.

That is AFRH and it's under deductions, a slight difference although almost everyone I talked to thought I was referring to that
it could be "armed forces assistance fund."
I couldn't find that, only the air force one.

Thanks to everyone for all the help

I don't think there has EVER been an LES that I recieved that I didn't wonder what PSD and/ord DFAS was doing on there to screw me out of some money...

Though, I think the functionality of MyPay has come a long way, and kudos to the allotment and per diem check functions!! :D

No worries. Acronyms scare them, such as STFU.
