NEWS NFA Regulations Revoked! SBR and Suppressors for all my friends.

I think a modern 22 rimfire pistol and can are the best bang for buck combo right now. 22 cabs are sold out everywhere I have looked.

Frank Smith lives in Texas and has a Sig Sauer MPX-K 9mm pistol with a 4.5 inch barrel.

Are the following statements correct ->
(1) Prior to October 2026, if Frank put a stock on his MPX-K it would become a "SBR" and require ATF approval. After this new ATF guidance, Frank can now put a stock on his MPX-K in Texas and not worry about getting ATF approval.

(2) Frank wants to visit a friend in Florida and bring his MPX-K. ATF still bans crossing state borders with an SBR without their approval.

(3) Before leaving on his trip to Florida, Frank takes the stock off his MPX-K so it becomes a pistol again. After he gets to his buddies house in Florida, he puts the stock back on his MPX-K. Because he didn't cross state lines with an SBR, only his pistol, the ATF doesn't care.

There will continue to be benefits of having a 'pistol' with a brace over a stock, for legal / concealment reasons in various states.

The statements are correct, but there's an additional reason why they are correct. Florida does not require any additional permission from the USAG, unlike several other states, so one can manufacture a (formerly known as) SBR in Florida at any time.

Additionally, the FL AG just put out guidance to LE to assume any (formerly known as) SBRs are assumed to be legal unless they're being used in the commission of a crime (etc, etc).

So Frank is good to go.
