USN C-2 Sundown

I would have thought the War Hoover would follow in the footsteps of the S-2 Tracker/Fire Cat , but that hasn't happened.

I think a lot of that is due to the lifestyle costs/maintenance of the TF34/CF34 and that the two while physically identical motors are from a regulatory standpoint completely different.

But operationally it should be an ideal platform for aerial firefighting.
 
Most were either scrapped or sent to Davis Monthan. A few went to museums, notably USS Midway and NNAM in Pensacola.

Not sure how good the airframes are. They've already been SLEP'd once already.
