let's get this party started!
Thanks!!
Group me is up!
Our Indoc phase should wrap up right around Christmas. I’ve heard both that we either get a week or two days.Anyone got gouge on what to expect for holiday break and graduation date? I’ve seen some reports that OCS stands down for two weeks but we only get one week off. Trying to understand when we would expect to graduate with the break during our class. Also, really hoping we get through INDOC phase before the break so that’s behind us when we get back into it. Thanks!
You will treat Holiday break as the normal holiday routine with added perks since training will be on pause. You will be allowed to go on leave if you choose so, or stay at OTCN. Your class team will go over what you are are not allowed to do. Historically, you will be able to battle buddy outside training country without a Candidate Officer present during the holiday stand downs. During normal operations if a "class" or individual needed to go off training country to go to nex a CANDIO or you would call a Candidate Officer will have to escort you and coordinate with your classes "TOP 6" and class team. Half of the class/staff are present, so you will not have your normal day operations. Classes just use that time to study or take a load off. You should get your phone back during the holiday periods unless a new policy happened.Anyone got gouge on what to expect for holiday break and graduation date? So, what kind of opportunity do we have to visit family during the break? Can you leave training country on Liberty and not burn Leave? This is all very new to me so thank you in advance for walking me through it!You will treat Holiday break as the normal holiday routine with added perks since training will be on pause. You are able to take what is called a POM period leave. You will either take 1st POM or 2nd POM. Basically a time period where you are able to take leave before Christmas leading up to Christmas, or after leading up to the New year. Unless you're a Candidate Officer, I don't believe you can leave "base" without leave. Think of training country as your living quarters, pt field, galley ect. You are authorized however to leave training country, just not base while training has paused. Training Country is within "Officer Candidate School". The NEX, Commissary, Starbucks ect are outside of training country. So, what kind of opportunity do we have to visit family during the break? Also, to be clear, I understand that the point of OCS is training and I typically wouldn’t be thinking about leave/liberty. I just want to maximize my use of the break and not waste it. I won’t be able to take advantage of last minute opportunities so trying to get ahead of it now, if possible.
