For unmanned aircraft, does that mean all female crew? If i get assigned to one, will I have to transition? Thanks.

fun fact: i am currently stationed at VUP-19 (the Navy's MQ-4C platform) and the pilots are not thrilled to be flying with a keyboard. seems to be an unfulfilling disassociated tour. the AVP program is finally starting to roll in and some WO1s are showing up to take the seat rather than these prior P-3 (rip)/P-8 guys/gals

Shore tour, rather. At least that’s what I’ve been told. Many of my primary and intermediate instructors told me that 2/3 P8 pilots go drones for their shore tour. Which means in that community it’s very possible to only fly for 3 years of your post flight school service contract time…

You should ask them more about it as they’d clearly know better than me though.

yeah i'm still not 100% on how it works or what counts as disassociated vs shore - but aren't the rotations for P8ers just fleet tour then a disassociated tour?

i'm under the impression that they chose this rather than to go be shooters on a carrier, so it counts as their disassociated

i know some NFOs that came from P8 land, then here, then went to Fallon or carriers but I'm not sure how their rotation works

My theory is that they haven’t given me FINSEL yet because OCS dates are still being considered across the whole board. When board results are made official, I am hoping to hear back from my recruiter shortly.
