29JUNE2026 IWC Board

I just hope I get selected this round so I know I have a job once I graduate college. Otherwise, I will just keep trying for future boards until something sticks. Though, I really hope this once works out because I would like some guaranteed money sooner rather than later. 😅

What made you pick Intel? I am going for the same designator, but mainly because my recruiter thought it would be the best fit for my major. I also found it more interesting than supply.

Long story short I wanted to do Aviation but never got medically cleared. Intel was the main other field that interested me. I like how they fit into the larger matrix of being a supporting role, I like the variability in assignments including the job itself and the locations, I think it sets you up for good opportunities after service, too. My degree was in athletic training and I've been practicing as an athletic trainer for 7 years now which is largely unrelated save for some of the soft skills required. I also like taking in a lot of information and making something of it, and helping people understand something and why it matters.

I considered supply and know a senior enlisted who's done mostly if not all aviation supply and loved it, but a SUPPO is used much different than enlisted supply to my understanding and those roles didn't appeal to me as much either

I was originally going to go Air Force/Space Force and wanted to work in Satellite Ops. However, the Air Force did not like the cut of my jib when it came to my medical profile. So I pivoted to Navy. I even have a DD785 because I was already in Air Force officer training and the issues happened during it, oops.

Congrats on being selected for OTS! It's highly competitive. I tried Air Force and they wouldn't give me the time of day. I hope the Navy works out better for you

Yeah it was tough being so brutally shot down after going through all the hoops the Air Force put in front of me, but hopefully the Navy has the same interest in me as the Air Force once did. I already passed Navy MEPS medical, so should be all good on that front.

I remember I spoke to an air force recruiter and he basically told me i wouldn’t eveb be considered because I didn’t have a masters which I found interesting. Very snobby way of saying it too
 
The Air Force lifestyle is definitely desirable, though once you are no longer the perfect candidate (as it was with my case) they get very cold. The OTS dorms down at Maxwell are very nice, though I was there in the summer and it was hot as balls.

I am not sure how the Navy ones stack up. I guess I have to get selected, and then just embrace the suck.

What kind of community were you going to be in with the Air Force?
 
My account was finally approved, who do I talk to to get my info added to the spreadsheet at the beginning of this thread? I know I'm at board for Intel.
