01JUN26 SNA/SNFO board

They don't unless you have a waiver issue, it is all about picking the people with the best chance of succeeding in the pipeline, the other designators have less rigorous training pipelines and will look at most things, the checklist is used for all designators. We just wouldn't send in LOR's and the motivational statements for my applicants would be 2-3 sentences, a paragraph at most.

ASTB is weighted significantly more than the GPA.

Nope aviation doesn't care, we would routinely see STEM majors with low ASTB declined, we would also see people with high GPA's and ASTB scores at 5-7 for PFAR get declined while people with GPA's in the low 3's and PFAR 8 or 9 get picked up.

Again it is all about picking those with the best chance of making it through the pipelin
Interesting. So is PFAR the only score that really matters for pilot?

first FY27 board. historically the first FY board has a lot of applicants, and a lot of applicants are selected. maybe its hopeium idk
They have already been selecting and assigning FY 27 OCS dates, for OCS FY 27 starts mid July as it is when the person graduates.

The numbers for each board are divided as equal as can be between each scheduled board with estimates based on past years available spots so in theory a person can apply to any board and have the same chance. Things like ISEL and ISPP appear to have used some "interesting" issues with board schedules.

No. You'll get rejected if your AQR and FOFAR are bad while your PFAR is high. It's more important but they're apparently super hesitant to take anything below 6s because of the available data they have on attrite numbers and ASTB scores.

I got a 6/8/6 so I’m hoping that clears the bar

If going for SNA FOFAR doesn't matter, if going for SNFO PFAR doesn't matter. AQR is important but no where near as important as the specific score for the designator.

In most cases PFAR and FOFAR are close but sometimes you see a split of 2 or in odd cases 3.
